Gas/Diesel plastic fuel neck mount differences?

When I parted a gas K10 awhile back I took the plastic filler neck mounts off for my k30 diesel. Looks like there is a difference in how the necks are made or my diesel has filler necks from something else. The mount tabs are different. Two tabs on the diesel neck and three on the gas. What do you think.

My 79 K20 parts truck had the same as the upper photo. The lower one came out when they got rid of leaded gas. So all new gas trucks had that in there spout to prevent leaded gas from entering.

These are both 85's so are you saying the upper photo's filler neck is an earlier model?

I think you just need the appropriate inner bucket and you're good to go.
