Rochester 1BBL main metering jet an air bleeds
Hello Pick´upper
Can someone tell me something about the main metering jet´s and the air bleeds from the Rochester 1BBL Carburetor from my Inline 6 235? I have two of the Carburetors at home. One of them has a .58 jet and the other an .71 jet. Wich one should i use or should i buy another one for my 235?!? Other question is about the air bleeds. They are also different. From the carburetor with the .71 main jets they are bigger than the other ones. Can i change the bleeds or is it permanently tuned? Thanks a lot good luck in the soccer world champion chip :-) Greetz Geri |

The 058 sounds about right for a 235. I have been in many of them & have never seen a jet as big as 071 in a Roch. model B. Usually from 055 to 059. I don't know about the air bleed. I always leave what was in the carb.

leave the .58 jet with the matching bleed, .71 was probably from a 261 chevy.

Hello Together,
thank´s for your fast answers . Yesterday i skip through the old GM-Parts-Catalog and i found the same informations about the main metering jets. Your answer give me the safeness now and i will use the Carb with the lesser Jets :-) Greatz Geri |
