Mirror delete panels

I'm changing up the look of my truck. My 88 has what I call sport truck mirrors and I'd like to remove them and mount some chrome street rod mirrors on the door. Anybody know where I can find smooth panels to fill the mounting area?

Re: Mirror delete panels

there are plastic ones available that came on trucks with the big huge towing mirrors. If you want a metal filler, a flat piece of sheet metal would fit pretty good.

Plastic would be ok with me. Are those a dealer item?

Re: Mirror delete panels

Yep, look for a truck with the large (West Coast) tow mirrors. Since I couldn't find them locally at the time, I looked up some salvage yards online at car-part.com and bought mine. I think I gave $30 shipped. Mine were metal, not plastic.

Re: Mirror delete panels

I have a set of the metal ones (would be surprised if aluminum, they've got some weight to them, was thinking it was some glorious GM pot-metal) sitting in a box in storage. I don't have a use for them. PM me if interested.
