Patch panel advice
OK, so I have the engine back in the frame and it purrs like a kitten. Now it's time to tackle the rust in the cab floors. Both sides are rusted out up past the seam on the front. Both inner and outer rocker panels are shot as well as the support pillars. The rust extends inboard past where the seats bolt in. So, here's my question: Who makes the widest, best fitting, or maybe even one piece patch? I don't think I want to replace the whole floor, but I'd love to find a piece that covers as much as possible. I've found the long thin panels and the wide short ones. But, I haven't found one that's wide enough and that extends all the way back. Suggestions? Advice?

Re: Patch panel advice
Ive done body work for a living and now just for myself. Repo parts are a headache. I must say thought the pcs Ive got from LMC for my 66 have been some of the best parts Ive used.

Re: Patch panel advice
There are not any floor patch panels like you are looking for. I would definitelt recommend the piece that extends from the front to the back and includes the inner rocker and outer floor. It is easier to keep all that straight versus using the parts that cover that area in 2 pieces. Then trim the other floor patch to connect to that. Otherwise you will have to find a donor cab.

Re: Patch panel advice
I have used some from Classic Parts and seems like they went from front to back depending on which panel you buy. I agree with Captain fab on using the piece that includes the inner rocker and outer floor. The ones I have done I try to cut the floor centered on top of where the frame runs so the welded joint is centered on top of the frame rail if possible (from front to back) and gives the joint better support.. Just my 2 cents

Re: Patch panel advice
I second what the two above me said. That piece with the inner rocker and outer floorboard saved me a lot of time and I'm sure headache. As far as I know, all the floor pan replacements are basically the same dimension. You're just going to have to get what is offered and piece a few extra pieces in there to meet your needs. I just finished my passenger side that sounds a lot like what you're dealing with.
