Exclamation headlight issue after cab swap

real quick as to not get anyone confused...

i bought an 81 swb with quad headlights. all worked fine

i bought an 86 swb because the cab and bed were in better condition than my current 81.

My 81 had the headlight dimmer on the floor.
86 has it on the column.

after the swap and everything (which was done roughly a year ago, and the truck runs fantastic since rebuild)
when i turn my headlights on, just the high beams stay on. (the upper headlights)

when i try moving the stick on the column, to turn on my high beams or to switch between the two, the stick doesnt *click* ??

is that an issue with the signal lever on the column itself??

also when i go to use any turn signal, only the rears flash as if i had my hazards on

Re: headlight issue after cab swap

Did you re-connect the cab ground from the engine to the firewall when you swapped cabs?

i actually replaced it. with a thicker gauge wire, and even used a wire wheel to clean the metal.

i have it attached to a bolt location on the firewall to near where the frame rail is.

since i kept everything from the front end, all my wire harness plugged right in to the ports on the firewall

Re: headlight issue after cab swap

My 85 has a limp stick for a turn signal as well. Turn signals worj good nall but brights won't. Down the column on the left side is where the switch went. Try pressing on it by hand. If the headlights dim or go brighter or w/e then it's in the column. If not probably switch itself. Idk how to fix the turn signal lever though haven't got that far lol.
