Sbc to bbc ps pump help.
Hello guys I have a 69 cst that had a 350 in it. It so far hasn't been the easiest project. I purchased the pol tubular engine mounts and now have the engine sitting right. I have a long water pump and accessory pulleys. The alternator is good mounted on pass side. I have the ps pump mounting brackets the 3bolt to block that cradles the pump and curved upper adjustment piece. I tried using my 350 ps pump. It isn't going to work. The low pressure return hits the headers and won't allow the curved adjustment bolt to be close to the wp. What ps pump should I buy to make it all work? I'm trying to search and want to only do it once and be done. I appreciate the time and can post pics if it will help.

I used a pump from a small block and it worked fine. I'm using billet specialties serpentine front drive so not sure where it mounts in reference to yours. Also I'm running Sanderson bb8 headers. Sorry no pictures

Big Block power steering pumps are completely different. They have a smaller pump with a remote fill reservoir. This is an old for sale thread but it has some good pictures of the setup.... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=453842 LockDoc

Re: Sbc to bbc ps pump help.
Thanks for the replies. I know my small block pump won't work. I'm trying to use just v belts. Can I buy an auto parts store ps pump from a 454? Would that work or will I run into issues of that route too? Thanks
