How to remove the ashtray assembly?

I need to pull the ashtray assembly from my 89 CC (complete assembly: ashtray & housing/door).

It was too late/dark last night to see how things are attached. I've never had to pull one out so I was hoping for any tips or pointers from others that possibly have so when I get started later today I'm not wasting time.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: How to remove the ashtray assembly?

You almost have to find it yourself on here. I love the site but help sometimes is hard to come by. Too many " do a search" replies. Sorry but the search isn't the easiest to use. If I know an answer, I answer.... even if it is the umpteenth time it's been asked.

I read your first post and was just about to let you know how it's done then I read your second post.

I'm going to start either video taping myself working on my stuff or take pictures as I work just so I have good answers for others.

Help is always appreciated so thank-you regardless.

I ususally try to answer questions too (if I know the answer ). But, there are some that do ask excessively on subjects that are routinely covered/discussed so I guess that's why some guys don't have as much patience.

I popped the assembly out on my lunch break. Now for the revisions

Indiana Jones walked away from that encounter though, not so for the highly skilled Morrocan swordsman.

Gotta admit, that was a cool scene. Took me by surprise.
