wire nightmare please help
out of fuse block the one on firewall has red wire comming out that ends up with this mess on it is this a po trying some homemade crap or what

last pic is where 3 red are crimped together with a black with a fuse and the black goes back to the panel too many hots i think but dont know

Does your truck still have the external regulator type alternator? That harness plug appears to be the one that should be plugged into the regulator on your radiator core support but has jumpers that indicate an internally regulated alternator. This wiring diagram may be prove useful. I also found that another member has posted a complete wiring diagram at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=378552 Hope this helps

ok not much of a wire guy but i have a new alt a chrome one i think one wire setup not origanal in anyway
so do i just cut those wires out |

truck was a frame off now just putting back together not buying new harness if i dont have to cost over $500.00 in canada

I am going to install a new Painless harness, P/N 10206. As with any build, it is best to replace that 45 year old wiring to protect your investment. BTW, nice truck

Nice! I like the raised white letters on black rally rims. AutoZone has the best price I found for Painless wire harness P/N 10206 at http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...96692_0_12490_ They mention an online 20% discount.
