Post Wanted: 1970 Tachometer Instrument Cluster

Hi Guys,

Once again I'm in need of parts. I'm looking for an instrument cluster that is in great-excellent condition that have all the guages working and no cracks in the bezel or lenses. If someone in North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconson or Minnesota has a cluster that they'd be willing to part with, give me a buzz please. I don't want to pay LMC's prices for a new cluster but I am having my truck restored as we speak and we're starting to button up the project. I'll post pics as soon as it's all done. Hopefully someone out there has a nice cluster to sell. I would prefer one with a black face and NOT the wood grain face. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Joe Hirdler

The bezel?

Don't waste your time worrying about a black, or woodgrain, or whatever bezel. Who cares if it is cracked. If you are restoring a truck, buy a new bezel for it. They cost about $40, and look better than any 30 year old unit will. The guages can be cleaned up and needles repainted really easy. Get a new lense for another 40 and you're done.

Nobody??? How come I see them go on ebay for $200 a piece. and now suddenly people want $450.00. The parts to make one of these clusters cannot total $150. Although I don't expect to pay that little, it's amazing what the markup is on stuff like this. I think $250 is a fair price for a completely restored/new tach cluster. If someone is willing to come in the neighborhood of $250, give me a PM. Thanks.

We can sell you a tach conversion kit for your dash for $239.95. However that does not include the new bezel. That is an additional $39.95. That is about as cheap as they get, plus or minus a few dollars, and that uses your gauges. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

If you buy a tach gauge and fit it in to your existing cluster what kind of wiring does it take to make it work?? My dash is out already for paint I wouldn't mind fixing it up for this if it isn't to tough of a job. Anyone know what it takes?

If you buy the tach dash conversion kit, it comes with everything you need to convert your dash. No changes necessary.. I already have a refurbished tach dash here 1970blazin that I would be willing to do some trading for. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
