Question about RockAuto.com
For the guys that have used them in the past.. If you order parts from them online and some of the parts are "out of stock" or "on backorder", does the website notify you before you place the order? I've never bought from these guys before but it has happened to me with other companies, you place an order, pay your money, and then get a message the part is on a three week backorder. Thanks.

Re: Question about RockAuto.com
I order at least once a week. I've never had an item backordered. Some items I've received the next day and perhaps 7 days has been the longest wait.

Re: Question about RockAuto.com
I've ordered a lot of stuff from them and never recall having anything backordered. In fact, they generally show how many of an item are left when inventory gets low. It appears they maintain some sort of "live inventory" system.
Edit: For an example, go to their website and drill down to look for "radiator fan clutch" for a 72 C10 with a 350. You will see options for regular inventory or private label. The private label selection will show how many remain. Last edited by FirstOwner69; 07-02-2014 at 11:28 AM. |

Re: Question about RockAuto.com
I don't think the part will show up if its not physically in stock the way their system works

Re: Question about RockAuto.com
Whats the laughter for?
Understood that mistakes will happen and counts can be in error, but they seem to have pretty good system and haven't screwed me on anything yet. They usually indicate low stock but I have yet to find anything listed in actuality to be out of stock.
