98 Chevy Seats
How to do you guys like my freshly upholstered 98 Chevy split bench w/console seats. The REAL nice thing about these seats is the passenger side sits on a double slide which allows you to slide the passenger seat almost all the way to the glove box. Gives you about 3' of room to put something big behind the seat. Real nice feature if you live on the oregon coast....never stops raining here Im looking for more pics of my seats. Ill post more after work if i can find them. Stay tuned to my build thread as i gather all my pics im trying to post them in order till i get up to date.

I put buckets out of an 06 Silverado in my 70 gmc stepside. A much better ride but snug.

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
I have the same seat in my 67 I find it really crammed in the cab now. I did lower it to the floor a couple of inches I might have to raise it back up

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
I am hoping for a ok we steering bracket for my 250 cid then a tilt column and a smaller steering wheel. Hopefully then it will be a whole lot better.

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
Definitely got to do the gas tank conversion. Ive got mine all the way to back of cab. I set the height of seat same as original bench. If i didnt move gas tank i probably couldnt fit in there..lol

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
Maybe, just maybe 15 lbs from me would make it less snug. If anyone has a 250 cid power steering bracket let me know.

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
That's the seat I want to put in mine. Love the fold down center
I know the 91-94s fit really nice but no console. Did your upholstery guy give you much grief I heard these seats were difficult to redo because the cloth or leather were bonded to the cushion? |

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
Every time I read a new 'seat from a XX' thread, I get more ideas for seats! Kinda hard to make a final decision!
That seat looks good and comfy- exactly what I'm going for.

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
Quote:
1) REAL comfortable. 2) Gives a feel of Full center console but can flip up for full bench. 3) There are 2 seat slides. The passenger 1 has 2 slides because the truck it comes out of had that passenger side suicide door on the extended cab so it slides so far forward the back of the seat almost hits the glovebox..lol. Real nice for hauling something big behind the seat if needed.

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
I can get a pretty nice takeout from a 98 that's cloth for 400. Or a not so clean one for 275 but if it's going to cost a fortune or not be able to be refinished I might have to re think things

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
Haven't looked at the 09 vintage seats but I know the 99-07 style they are too thick in the backs and push the driver too close to the steering wheel
And keep in mind removing the gas tank really don't gain anything |

Re: 98 Chevy Seats
I got mine free out of my buddys wrecked truck and cost me 400.00 to upholster them. I put in a flaming river steering column and pushed it as far forward as possible. There enough room for me i think. Its just been so long since i tore it down from stock i forgot how much room i had with original column/seat/tank behind seat.
