New one piece floor to wide?

I've been attempting to install a new one piece floor into my 72. I first braced everything to assure there would be no shifting of any part of the cab.

I got the old floor out and everything cleaned up, but noticed my new floor is 66 1/2" wide, but my opening between the kick panels is only 65"

I expected a little difficultly and possibly some trimming, but an 1-1/2" is quite a bit. Is it possible my old floor was so rusted that there was already shifting of the cab before I braced it? I'm a little tempted to remove the bracing and spread the door pillars to get the floor to fit, but that would probably open up a whole new can of worms

Could someone measure their distance between the kick panels, right at floor level and let me know what you have? I already installed the new front and rear pillar repair panels on the right side, but won't even attempt the left side until the floor is in

I also have a 66" opening at the back of the pan, but new pan is 67" but I am able to get that to fit nicely (centered) because right now there are no cab corners to interfere

Re: New one piece floor to wide?

Looks like he just installed a partial floor, but man, he sure had to do a lot that truck and did a great job! My floor and bottom quarter of my trucks is worse, but the top 3/4 was in better shape. I wasn't able to find that measurement between the kick panels, but I think I have it fitting ok. I'll just meed to search out soe photos to see how it should be fitting where it meets the new front and rear door piller repairs that I did
