Need Help, Truck : Going to be 87, engine: 350. I am doing a frame up on a 79 Blazer, using the frame only. Putting a cab on it with a short bed (later). Since it is down to a bare cab with nothing on it I am going to put in AC. So what pullies do I need to make this work? Right now it only has the power steering, alt, water pump. Thanks, John

Here are some images of a factory A/C conversion I did a couple of years ago.

The truck happened to be an 86. The engine year I can't recall but the year of manufacture makes no difference as long as it is a 350.

I included the parts dwg and list for the compressor bracketing required to mount an R-4 style compressor to a 350 engine. Applicable to C & K series (1,2 & 3).

Also there are a couple of minor differences in the P/S pump bracketing between A/C and non- A/C applications - and the pulley is different for A/C set ups.

The way I arranged the belts and pulleys (on the truck shown in the images) may not agree exactly with the factory dwgs. But the set-up as shown, worked well.

Don't feel as though you have to set up a belt pulley system exactly as factory. There are plenty of different ways to do it, and sometimes it just come down to what parts (i.e pulleys and belts) you have on hand to work with

Thanks, John __________________ Big Blue ( John ) 79 Chevy Pick up.....My Dailey STILL Working on a frame up: 1987 Truck body on a 78 Blazer frame. Need cab blasted to start project. Got the cab BLASTED, Now Prep and Paint. Started to lay SOME BONDO and primer. Done, Ordering paint. Got paint, Stuff painted,Cab,Fenders, Hood more later. 9/7/2015 Got the clear coat on,now time to take one off. Started to put things back (What a nightmare) like the heating and AC stuff,inside wire harness, outside AC unit and booster, still more. May 2016, still working on the inside. Got duck work in,heating and AC. Radio (stock) in dash with after market in console later, Speaker are hooked up, Steering column is in. Getting ready to drop the cab onto the frame, Working on engine now since I have the room. Well here it is 2018, got the engine in and it runs, now I need to get the exhaust system in so I can adjust the lifters, to loud right now. Got the exhaust on now I am waiting for the break parts to come in.
