clutch delete plug
Wondering how the metal plug installed. Was it on the inside or outside of firewall? Did it just use sheet metal screws? I'm sure someone knows....

Re: clutch delete plug
I don't even appear to have a hole where a clutch rod -could- come through on my TH400 truck. In that area the firewall is flat but has about 6 pinch welds.

Re: clutch delete plug
Never mind, I found this photo in my teardown info. But my clutch linkage opening is completely open, only the jute covers it. I assume that's incorrect.

Re: clutch delete plug
The earlier trucks, through 70 I believe, used gray plastic plugs on the outside of the firewall. I see you found this thread for them http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=535199 . GM later (1971?) switched to metal covers with a rubber backing that screwed on from the outside of the firewalls.
Here's a plug installed on my 69. Last edited by FirstOwner69; 07-06-2014 at 05:17 PM. |
