Re: What tire size for 17s

Your question is a little vague. Not sure exactly what you are looking to accomplish, so it's hard to answer. Do you want it to look stock, sort of? Are you going to lower it and want them to tuck? Do you want them as wide as possible? In the meantime, here's a link to a site that you can do some comparisons with that I have found helpful: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Re: What tire size for 17s

Tire size and wheel width are directly related.
What size wheels?

Re: What tire size for 17s

Looking at stock size 235/75/15 I went 235/60/15 and a 275/60 rear. Couldn't find 17s I liked. Went 18x9.5 and 18x8. 295/45/18 which is 28 tall and 11.5 wide Nitto 555s best bet use the the tire calculator on Discount Tire or other sites.

Re: What tire size for 17s

Well I was planning on running 17 but I have a 72 12 bolt posi and its wider so I would need a bit of backspacing on a 17. The problem is that on a 8 inch rim I would need 5 inch backspacing to get it right on and finding a cost efficient wheel with that backspacing is pretty hard so Im sort of confused on what to go with now.

Any pictures of the front or the entire package (front and rear?)

I am planning the same boat (18x8 front, 18x9.5 rear.... LOVE what you have going on)

Waiting for PorterBuilt front to come back from powdercoat and brakes from California. Getting closer to having the front in and done but 245/40/18 for front. Had hard time finding 17s in right size gave up and went 18. Still meat on tire and right height and width.
