73-80 Replacement front fenders

I'm considering on buying new aftermarket front fenders from lmc for my 76. I haven't baught any 73 up panels from them and am wondering if theirs fit well or are they horrid? Have any of you used them on your trucks?

Re: 73-80 Replacement front fenders

Get the Goodmark panels. They are using the original GM dies. The restoration people around here (and there are a lot of them; Indiana is car crazy) won't use anything else.

How about the OER authorized fenders that classic industries offers has anybody tried those out?

Re: 73-80 Replacement front fenders

Got mine from Keystone fit good. Only 1 inner fender needed a ream to get the bolts in. And could've used some body work around the cowl/windshield area.

Re: 73-80 Replacement front fenders

Thanks for the responses guys. I really wonder if the same place stamps and produces them and all the big suppliers rebox them?

Re: 73-80 Replacement front fenders

There is only about 2 or three companies that stamp reproduction. They have contracts with many suppliers in the aftermarket world to box them under their names. Your best bed is to locate a set of decent used fenders or locate a pair of gm n.o.s. the original s are more money but last much longer and require a lot less time fitting which sometimes saves money at a body shop.

I question that. The originals are not galvanized, whereas all replacement body panels have been galvanized since 1992.

I've heard that panels from AMD fit really nice, we're ordering mine in about a month from there, unfortunately they don't have bed panels

Re: 73-80 Replacement front fenders

The problem with finding good originals around here, is, there aren't many if any. I'm not going to spend $500-$600 on front fenders for this project either. I guess I'll have to see how it goes.

Re: 73-80 Replacement front fenders

Subscribed. You might look into looking on CL on the west coast and seeing if someone will ship them. Rust free 73-80 fenders go for $80 a piece on CL over here.

They're in there. One of the pictures has the fenders turned around backwards with the inner fenders attached
