Trans Lines
I have a 2003 3500 dually with a 6.0 engine and a 4L80E trans. the cooler lines are leaking badly and I am trying to replace them but so far I have gotten 2 sets from 2 different manufacturers and they are not even close to fitting. Mine have the trans end the screw into the case and the replacement ones don't they just have a rubber or plastic washer type affair and no ends that screw into the case and they don't have the same bends to go to the front radiator and cooler. I need help!!!!
thanks

Re: Trans Lines
You should contact a local shop that makes custom lines. I had to have some brake lines made for my 67 and took the old ones down. they matched everything to my specs, and they did it in about 30 minutes

Re: Trans Lines
Factory transmission lines don't screw in on these trucks, they push into the fitting and have a wire clip to retain them in the fitting. There is a plastic cap that goes over it to hold the clip. I believe the rear fitting has an O ring between the fitting and the case.
These are the part numbers I came up with for an 03 3500 with 4L80E. Double check with a dealer before ordering to verify they fit your application. If they are correct, you can get both lines new for around $50 15812030 15812049 These images should give you an idea of how they fit together as well as what the clip would look like once pulled out. The plastic cover will pull back to expose the clip in the fitting. [/URL] |

Re: Trans Lines
Hmmm, That's interesting. I have not seen that on these new trucks.
Maybe check with the dealer and see what they come up with. Maybe its something specific to a dually chassis. |
