Rim Size Question

So I am slightly torn at the moment and would like some feedback.

Currently I just picked up a 1974 K10 4x4 that came with 16" rims with I tink 285/75r16 tires.

There is a set of aluminum slotted rims for 6 bolt but I haven't quite confirmed if they'll work with a 4x4 yet or not.

I know rims play no relevance in ground clearance unlike the tire size so by switching to a 15" rim I would have to run larger tires to make up for the same 16".

Would you run heavy 16" steelies or would you run nice aluminum rims?

The other thing is that I do use this off road so I know the maintenance on a aluminum rim is a lot more too.

Re: Rim Size Question

285/75r16 are 11.2 inches wide an 32.8 tall. heres a tire conversion site for you

If you want to run the exact same size go with a 33/11.5r15 or anything in the 33 tall size.
