Doug's Mid Length Headers (for 5.3 Swap)
Hey Everyone,
I'm starting the parts gathering phase for swapping in a 5.3 out of a 2000 Yukon in to my '89 V10 Blazer and was wondering if anyone has used the mid length headers from Doug's Headers. I'm in CA and will have to deal with smog once the swap is done so I'm pretty limited on header options. Most of the smog legal headers are shorties and aren't much better than the stock manifolds but I came across a good deal ($250 for bare steel) on a set of smog legal mid length headers (P/N D3353-1) and am tempted to snatch them up. Before I do I was curious if anyone has any experience with them, how they like them, what kind of gains you noticed, and most importantly how they fit between the frame rails. Here's a pic of a set similar to what I'm looking at: They'll be getting installed along with a mild cam and and new valve springs before I get the drive train swapped in. Thanks for any input you guys can give. -Anthony |
