WTB: PS pulley for '65 283
I have been searching high and low for the correct flat (when viewed from the pulley groove edge) PS pulley for early 283 engines. The later pulleys with the protruding hub are common as dirt used and in the aftermarket. Anyone have a clue?...or a pulley? I have attached a picture of the one I need to replace. It looks like it was last installed with a sledgehammer.
Thanks...ned.

Re: WTB: PS pulley for '65 283
I have a little more information to add.
The specific part number I need is GM 3791943 CI. A little more digging shows that this pulley is was used on 63-69 inline-6 trucks with power steering as well as 283 V8s. I can't swear that is true but a knowledgable looking cross-reference had that listed. Here's a clean picture of what the right pulley looks like. Thanks...ned.

Heh...pretty funny that we were bidding against each other on the eBray pulley that you ended up with. I gave up too soon I guess! Well, I'm glad it went to a fellow truck enthusiast. I've been watching the used pumps listed there but had hoped I wouldn't have to spend so much for just the pulley.
Thanks a lot for pointing me to your thread and I'll keep trolling for a decent deal. ...ned. Quote:

Re: WTB: PS pulley for '65 283
I just completed my search by winning an eBay auction for an old pump of unknown value with the correct pulley. Spent more that I hoped to but that's how it goes when you live in an area where the "old stuff" in the pick-n-pull yards is from the mid 80s.
Thanks for listening...ned.
