Re: Has anyone ever seen a Dana 44-50F?

I believe that was used by Dana to indicate the model 44 with 8 lug outers. Not 100%, but that has been my experience. I put gears in one once and it used regular 44 gears.

It's the GM 3/4ton Dana 44 with 8 lug wheels. Dana 44-50F is cast on my 76 K20.

The 66 K20 I used to have had that axle too, 8 lugs.

Re: Has anyone ever seen a Dana 44-50F?

The only thing I can find is the fact that Most of the Early Model trucks ran a Heavy Duty Dana 44 with 8 Lugs 3/4 ton's . It seems like it's a 44 with thicker axle tubes (1/2" vs. 3/8" from what I could gather). Before Switching to the Corp 10 Bolt Axle in 1980.
