Check my tire/wheel specs pls!
72 K10, 2.5 Skyjacker lift, BBC (396) weighs the front down some. I am thinking of going with a 265/75R16 (basically a 32x10.50) on a 7 inch wheel with 4 inches of backspacing. I am not so much worried about the tire size itself as getting the proper backspacing.
Besides the BBC and 2.5 lift, the truck is basically stock. Thanks for any input! |

Re: Check my tire/wheel specs pls!
I assume my question is so blindingly obvious that no one sees a real need to answer, and that fitting those tires/wheels on a lifted truck is very easy since, as far as I know, they probably would fit on a stock height truck.
That said, I'm about to drop $1200 bikkies on wheels and tires, so if anybody wants to give me a warm fuzzy then thank you so much for taking the time to help |

Re: Check my tire/wheel specs pls!
I wouldn't think you would have any problems as some of these trucks had factory 16"s on them and you have a small lift..

That size tire will easily fit. You may even want to run a 285/75R16 tire on a 8" wide rim. It will fill the wheel wells a little better with the lift you have. Post some pictures so we can see the truck.

I could just go 33x12.50 I guess, lots of tires in that size too. But I wanted something practical that wouldn't rub no matter where I went offroad. |

Re: Check my tire/wheel specs pls!
Why does an E rated tire defeat the purpose? With reduced pressures to match the weight of your truck they will ride no differently than any other tire IMO. I've run same size tires in D and E rated and at 80 psi the E rated tire is much stiffer, but at 65 it rides no differently.d An E rated tire on a 2500# jeep can have too much sidewall, but a 5000# truck it's just a non issue if you adjust inflation pressure.
What gear is in your truck? This has as much or more to do with economy and proper tire height than any thing else. Also, what transmission? If you have a TH350 mileage is pretty much going to be stuck at 12 or less IME. If you have 3.73 with the big block another tire choice would be the 255 85 16 which isn't as common but gives you a little more height with a little less width if you like the pizza cutter style.

This is mine on 275/70/17 with a 2.5" lift, small block. Plenty of clearance !

Re: Check my tire/wheel specs pls!
Here's a picture, just took this pic yesterday. Currently has 31x10.50R15's on it. Yeah as far as the 235/85R16's go I figured they would be a lot heavier than the C rated 265/75's, but as it turns out that is not the case. I'd say the 235/85R16's are back in play for me.

Re: Check my tire/wheel specs pls!
I'd run a nice set of 285/75/R16's on it. The 7" wide wheel will work just fine, I'm running 315/75/R16's on 7" wide wheels with no issues. The 285's will give your truck a great look, and to be honest, won't affect your gas mileage all that much. You're only talking 0.8" taller than the 265's, and about an inch wider. To be honest, your truck might look goofy with the 265's with a small lift.

Yeah, right now I am really leaning toward the AR767 in a 16x7 with the Goodyear Duratrac in a 235/85R16. I think that will give me a decent look, decent fuel mileage, decent puncture resistance (E rating), decent snow and mud performance, and really make the truck look a heck of a lot better than with those old beat 31x10.50R15's. |

Re: Check my tire/wheel specs pls!
Tire order placed today, 4 235/85R16 Goodyear Duratracs on 16x7 American Racing AR767 wheels. $1230 shipped from Tire Rack, can't beat that.
