Newbie intro...

Hey all,

Just wanted to make an introduction. I'm looking at a mid-80's GMC 1/2-ton. Not sure if it's 4-wheel drive or not. Doesn't really matter since it will be assigned to boat pulling duty. The guys over at GM-Trucks.com directed me here as their focus is more on the newer trucks.

Once I pick the truck up I'll have more detailed info and pics to post.

welcome from NJ and believe it or not as a fellow boater you may want to consider getting a four wheel drive truck... i have a 20 foot boat and dropping it in and pulling it out sometimes becomes a misadventure at low tide if you dont have the four wheel drive

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Four-wheel drive would be nicer for yanking the boat up slimy boat ramps, but not completely necessary in Michigan. Lake Michigan doesn't have tides so the water level stays fairly constant. We do get a buildup of green slimy junk throughout the summer on the ramps though.
