Need a Pic Of Backup Light Mounting

I had to order backup lights and mounts for my truck since it didn't have them on. Can someone post a pic of how they are supposed to mount so I can get an idea of how Im supposed to install them? Thanks!

Re: Need a Pic Of Backup Light Mounting

Hey Jonny;
You don't need a picture they should mount so that the water drainage hole in the lense is at the bottom so that if any water gets into them it will drain out.

*note*
I have noticed that some vendors are selling the bracket and light assembly for one side only so the bracket may have to be drilled and the light assembly bezel may have to be punched on the opposite side in order for the water drainage hole to be in the correct position.
You may or may not run into this problem depending on the vendor.

My lights and brackets came in today and that's exactly what Im facing. The passenger side is different. So I guess Ill have to drill it out. Thanks for your response.

Re: Need a Pic Of Backup Light Mounting

Here is an excerpt from my build showing what was done on the bracket to make it so it would mount properly on the other side, I also had some custom work done on the brackets to make them low profile in case you were wondering what the heck was going on
You will notice that once you drill the holes in the proper position on the bracket that the back up light assembly won't be in the correct position with the weep hole down so you fix that by grinding off the clock positioning nodule on the lense then rotate the assembly approx 180 degrees and the lense will be in the correct position with the weep hole down.

Re: Need a Pic Of Backup Light Mounting

Are the bolt holes that go in the bed for the mounts prethreaded? And if so, do you know what size bolts I need? Thanks.

Re: Need a Pic Of Backup Light Mounting

The holes for the back up light bracket should be directly under the holes for the brake light bracket and are tapped from the factory.
If they aren't there then someone has modified the bedside to eliminate them and you will have to figure out what they did to eliminate them and fix it.
I'm not sure what the correct bolt size is for the back up light brackets.

They are there. I took out one of the brake light bracket bolts and one is the same but the other is bigger. So I just need to figure out what size the bigger one is.

From what I remember they are all supposed to be the same size it sounds like someone stripped one of them out and put a bigger bolt in to fix it instead of using a heli-coil.

go and take a look on my build I just mounted back up lights on my step side truck. Xeen (Bryan) is telling you the truth about the weep holes needs to be on the bottom. if they are not it will fill up with water and cause you problems. unless you are planning on LED lights. Then I don't know about that.

Re: Need a Pic Of Backup Light Mounting

Will do. Thanks. I got the top two bolts in but not bottoms. I drilled out the two holes for the pass. light so its sitting correctly now. The two bolts I bought for the larger holes where a tad to small so still got to figure that out.

Another dilemma:

I looked under the truck and don't see the wires for the backup lights. Where could they be hiding? And if they aren't there, how do I hook these bad boys up?
