using stock 49 gauges
hey guys i know its been asked but after some searching i couldnt find the thread for our age of gauges. so i was wondering what i would need to make the original gauges fit/work with a sbc 350 motor that came out of a 85 chevy truck? as always thanks for the help in advanced

Stock gauges are 6 volt positive ground on the ammeter and fuel gauges. The oil and speedometer are mechanical. Dash lights are also 6v. If you are planning on using 12v. they can be rebuilt to 12. neg. grnd. or perhaps you can use a 12/6 voltage drop.

sorry should have said something but the whole truck has already been converted to 12v would a place like summit racing have all the components to make them compatible?

The temp gauge was the only stock gauge I could not get to work with a SBC. The sensor was too short.

i converted the amp gauge in my 58 to a volt gauge using a parts store gauge
looking at images of 49 gauges online you could convert all the gauges on your truck using a similar method
