1971 P10 leaky Rochester Monojet Carburetor

Have a '71 P10 shorty step van. Has been running fine. Started it up yesterday and started fine but wouldn't idle -- notice it was leaking fuel out of the bottom of the filter nut where the fuel line meets the carburetor. Tightened it up a bit but that didn't help. Took it off and visually the gasket, threads and filter look fine. Should I just replace the nut, filter and gasket or could this leak be an indication of something more complicated in the carb itself?

The carb was rebuilt a little over a year ago.

If the threads are good you should be able to replace the gasket & filter to fix it. Clean out the cavity so any dirt that comes loose won't get in the needle & seat.
That is a neat step van. I used to specialize in step van back when I had a shop. It looks like an aluminum body. If it has a manual steering gear I have the major shafts & gears for it NOS. I'll sell them cheap.

thanks -- yes -- it may just be the gasket because the threads look okay -- will try a new one with a new filter and see.

And yep -- it has a aluminum body. It's a fun truck. And yes to the manual steering too -- I'll keep that in mind about the parts. Thanks for the reply.
