? about brushguard availability...
I am on the lookout for a heavy-duty brushguard for my Suburban. Something like a Ranch Hand. They, and other places I have contacted, do not make them for our model trucks and earlier. Does anyone know where I could get one?
I have contacted a place in So. Texas called Bulldog Brushguards (www.bulldogbrushguards.com) and it is possible they can make me one if they can locate their old templates as they can't have my truck in person to fab one up. If anyone knows where I can locate something like this, please let me know.

i take it you are probably looking for something that looks good..... if you just want something that is functional rather than flashy.. then try to find one from a cucv military truck or blazer... i aquired one and it is extremely strong...

Yes, I want a brush guard that mounts to the frame for real strength, not just for looks. C'mon, all you Texans out there! One of ya'll has to know where one of these can be located. I'd even be interested in a used one as long as its in decent shape. I can always have it sandblasted and powdercoated up here.
Prerunner 1982, where did you find your CUCV brushguard? Yes, I have seen them before and they might work.

i "aquired" it... and lets leave it at that.. haha. you might be able to find them on ebay or at military auctions (though they will probably only sell the whole truck).. they are trying to phase out the Cucvs... I am in the National Guard and happen to be in good with the Sgt that runs the local motor pool. he was sending all the Cucvs (4 trucks and 1 or 2 blazers) to auction, he let me strip some things off that i wanted, including the brush guard, ant mount and tow hooks (they are larger than what come no the hmmwvs).... as far as where you could get one i dont know, might try calling the closest Guard Motor pool and see if they happen to have some Cucvs they are getting rid of they wouldnt mine parting with a few things.... but cant promise that would work.

Smitty built use to make one as well. Not as strong as the CUCV but a little more dressy.
www.4x4iron.com could make you anything you want and he caters to 73-91 K5's. His stuff is STOUT!
