Brake light?
I just went in my truck, and the BRAKE light in the fuel guage was lit up, even though the key was off. I turned the key on and the light went out. Also, the needle on my cheap tach usually falls straight down when i turn off the key, but it went counter clockwise, towards the 8k rpm mark, and stopped there. The MC has plenty of fluid in it and the brakes work great. I disconnected the wire at the proportioning valve and the light stayed on.
Before i go mess with it after dinner, any ideas? Bad ground in the insturment cluster maybe?

I can't answer your question but I have a similar problem with mine. It flashes when the engine is running. The only way I can get it to stop is unplug it at the proportioning valve.

Got the same problem with mine. Just unplugged it. First I thought it had something to do with a prop valve or mast cyl. Even thought maybe bad brake booster( Wanna a "A" ticket ride, disconnect the vacumn line fron your power brake unit and go drive it. Gives a whole new meaning to the word "whoa". It is probably just a bad sender.

Well, i just went and disconnected the "-" battery cable, then re-connected it and the problem stopped. Maybe the ground cable was just loose ??
Guess its fixed until it mysteriously pops up again later, lol
