Build Help

Hi Guys,
Hoping a few of you might pitch in to help me with a couple of questions to move my project forward.

1. LS Guys (I have an LS2): I am wondering where you got the fitting to AN line for the fuel rail? I purchased a 99 Corvette fuel filter so I can run a return from that but I need to know how to change those GM fittings to AN.

2. Once I finish getting the motor wired up, I will want to start putting the pieces of the truck together. I was told there is a pad I need to buy and likely a bolt kit that someone has already put together so I don't have to reuse all the old rusty bolts. OR has someone here wrote up everything I will need and I will go buy them all.

3. I need to purchase bed parts. Does anyone have advise for a place to buy those for a good price?

Re: Build Help

Several vendors have pretty complete selections of AN fittings. Check Speedway, Summit or Jegs or a local speed shop or in the catalog at an OReilly's speedshop in some select O'Reilly's stores.

The guys and gals on here all tend to have their favorite truck goodie vendors. One thing for sure go to the LMC site and order an LMC catalog for your truck. They have good parts diagrams to look at. Also Brothers truck parts, http://www.classicparts.com/ , https://www.fillingstation.com/ and I missed a lot of them.

http://www.mar-k.com/index.aspx is a purveyor of truck bed pieces that a lot of people use.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Build Help

The aftermarket vendors sell complete bolt kits in steel and stainless. Except for the bed I have used a bench grinder with a wire wheel to clean up all of my original hex shoulder bolts. I replaced any clutch head with hex or recessed allan head screws. For my bed bolts I found the local Fastenal store carried the original splined shaft carriage bolts for half the price of the repop companies. Local Catepillar store sells grade 8 bolts at the cheapest prices if you don't mind the Cat logo on the bolt. I have also found that the local farm store is not as proud of their standard bolts as other places.

Mar-K is the one to use for bed metal and parts. Made in USA and I have never heard a problem with quality, fitment of authenticity.

Unhappy Re: Build Help

Most of the body panel bolts are 5/16 standard thread shoulder bolts with knurled shoulded to act as a lock washer. A few of the front clip are 3/8 fine thread. Door hinge are 3/8 standsrd thread shoulder bolt.

Re: Build Help

Go to speedway motors and search for LS swap. It will bring up a kit with what you need one with a fuel pump one with out.
It is easy and at a good price.
As far as body parts I but from LMC ...not made in the USA but I would question if anything really is.
They stand behind what they sell.
Bolt kit Totally Stainless will sell buy year and make on the website or call them.

The bolts are not cheap....but if you are going with a LS for this build you will find you will be 30-35% higher build then using a small block chevy.

Re: Build Help

These are the fuel fittings I used on my LS swap.
They come in different sizes.
