Re: so how big of a mess is your shop?
My gravel floor shop has always been a cluttered mess.
I am resolved to keep my newly devoted area of a 16x24 slab clean and organized.

I know... I know....
Although, My overall pole barn is 36x40 with a 16x36 loft. So, my hoarding has space to flow. Yep, I'm resolving today; to keep my 16x24 concrete floored space neat and clean. We'll see.....

Re: so how big of a mess is your shop?
My garage is too small to fit my truck in and work on it at the same time. I leave it a mess cuz every time I clean it up I lose stuff. I will make room this fall to get it in for the winter.

Re: so how big of a mess is your shop?
Mine is only 22 feet wide and that gets used up quick. lol The city won't let me build a new shop so I'm stuck. I did find out I can leave one wall up and rebuild the whole thing any size I want so now it's just a money thing. I have around 35 feet of space I can use from the back of the garage to the alley so if I ever do rebuild that will be used.

Re: so how big of a mess is your shop?
This is the temp garage which is 22x24 until the 24x48 pole barn is done, which will have 3 stalls. But it gets the job done, keeps the trucks dry and has a concrete surface. Last work area was in a sand driveway with no cover overhead. Barn should be done by the 1st of the year hopefully.

Re: so how big of a mess is your shop?
My "shop" is my three car garage that hasn't had a vehicle in it for a long time. The third stall has been made into an office and small work area. I almost had it cleaned up last October but my wife's company moved and she made the mistake of telling me about some cabinets and bookshelves that we could have for free. To put those items in the garage absolutely every item in the garage except my work bench and tool box needed to be moved. I'm hoping to get one vehicle in there in the next few weeks. But I know as soon as I do that my wife will find something else in the house that she wants to throw in the garage. ARG!!!

Leave one wall up and it's considered a remodel. If you're in Idaho, I might be able to help you out with the drawings for the city. I can design for Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

Re: so how big of a mess is your shop?
Nice to see work areas and not finished projects! I'm actually more attracted to unrestored or parttly done stuff at the swap meet as well.
Mines not too bad for a suburban 2 car garage, but I have tools and car parts in pretty much every room except the baths. Then there's the attic. I used to have most of a 66 Chevelle in the master bedroom. Now a Camaro and old HD live in the garage and a 72 4x4 in the driveway. Changing the subject, I used to have a single 4' tube for light in the garage. A supposed friend needed work a few years ago so I had him retexture the walls and ceiling and paint off white. After that I ran some wire and put in 4, 4 tube fluorescents. The garage is now part of the house. |
