trouble with lights
Hey guys I am having some problems. I just recently replaced the cab on my 72, and now I am having problems with the lights comming on when I hit the brakes. Has this happened to any of you all before if so how did you fix it. The never did that before. Any help that you can give would be great.

Most electrical problems like that can be attributed to a bad ground. Did you run a ground wire from the cab to the frame when you put it back on??

Welcome to the board.
Do all of your other lights work?.... I'm sure you've checked the obvious lamps, fuses, bulb sockets, grounds.... Did you disassemble the column? (power for your brake lights goes through the turn signal switch) The switch for the brake lights is on the pedal assembly..... The harness for the rear lights connects at the firewall near the center.... A test light should tell you everything you need to know. Good luck!

Welcome to the board!
I have seen where some one forced a back up lamp into a brak/parking light socket. Did the exact sae as you described too. |
