3/4 ton rear diff options? Discs?

Hello all

I've searched the forum on this a couple of different ways. I was hoping some members could turn the light on hahahaha.

Doing research for my 86 3/4ton project and wondered, what is the best option for rear disc brakes on an 8 lug diff. My stock setup is the semifloating 9.5 with big drums and an open carrier with 3.73s.
Having been in the diff to change bearings and grease in the distant past I know the axle shaft splines are wearing out. Looks like lack of hardening treatment or something.

So I figure the whole setup can be replaced easily or I can part it together. A factory solution fits best, is most serviceable and cheapest in my experience.

My ideal setup would be 3.73 gears with a G80 posi and factory disc brakes with the drum in hat parking brake design rather than a Deville lever type. When I look online I see brackets for adding front discs to the rear with the caddy caliper. I'd rather not.

Was there a newer truck with a leaf sprung axle and discs that will bolt in? I'll go semi or full float. Or is the only decent option to go full floating and add dodge discs?

Thanks!

This looks interesting.

t=618631&highlight=lug+discs03-05 8 lug disc

Maybe I can get an FF from an 85-91 sub and add these brakes
