Rear coilover spring rate help

Hey guys,

Building up my great uncles 1950 and looking for rear coilovers now. Shocks will be mounted vertical, stock box with wood, 16gal tank mounted under box behind rear end. I've spent hours searching online and thought someone here might be able to give some insight on a spring rate for the rear coilovers. From what I have found I'm leaning towards 250lb/in. Any thoughts/experience greatly appreciated!

Give the folks over at Art Morrison a call, ask them what they put on the back of theirs.

Re: Rear coilover spring rate help

After talking to the guys at Art Morrison their truck chassis in the picture is using 170# springs but they also use nitrogen filled shocks which require a lower spring rate. I am planning to run single adjustable QA1 coilovers and after talking to them and from Spreaders info I am going to run either a 225 or 250# spring. Truck wont be on the road until next summer but I will post how it rides when the time comes.
