1970 C-10 sbc headers.

can anyone give me some suggestions on what headers to go with on my 70 swb C-10 with a sbc & 700R. And any ideas of a good muffler. Thanks.

What is your ride height? Can you get away with long tube headers? Regarding mufflers, how loud to you want your exhaust? What size tubing are you going to use?

Re: 1970 C-10 sbc headers.

The front is 2 1/2 to 3 inches lowered. Not sure about long tube clearing. I would like a good sounding muffler with some sound but not so loud to be obnoxious. I plan on going with the 3" pipe. Thanks.

Re: 1970 C-10 sbc headers.

On your sb(even pretty hot), 2 1/2 " is plenty on pipe sizing? I would suggest A hooker comp(full length header), 1 5/8 primary/2 1/2 collector. The Hookers tuck up nice, & run 2 1/2 right off the collector. Add an H pipe to the system, run to the rear (mufflers of your choice), & you will have a nice system I would suggest a magna flow muff...if you like it loud, go 14" body, for a bit more mellow, go 18" body on the muff?
