New Member from Kansas
Good afternoon all, I wanted to say hello. I have been lurking the forums for a while now. I joined back in '13 when my wife and I started the hunt for a truck. We took a couple of breaks in looking and this past May we bought a '72. The truck I ended up buying was under my nose the whole time. I bought it off gentleman who's son worked with my buddy in DFW. It was a great truck to start with. I had it transported back from DFW to KC. While unloading it, a chain swung and caught the front passenger fender. So it went to the body shop to be touched up. And that's where the story begins. I have already swapped the dash pad from white to black, installed a RetroSound Zuma, Walnut steering wheel, DJM lowering shackles (on the 1" setting as I need to notch the bed support and sort out why there are a total of 9 leafs for some reason) and converted from a floor shift back to column shift (column shift column was there it just didn't have the linkage or shift lever). My plan is to go with a set of 18x9 or 18x9.5 all around with a nice fat tire. Winter plans include in a Painless wiring harness and sound deadening, insulation and carpet.
Thanks all and I look forward to being a part of the community. Fixing the transport damage First car show (prior to DJM shackles) Black vs. White Current interior shot |

Thanks! Haha, the floor shifter has since been removed.
Small world. I am sure you have heard about him, but there is a guy at Praire Star and Monticello that parts C10's. Thank you! Thanks! My dad's step-brother lives in Mulvane! |

Haha, I need to go visit him for some glass.

I'm not a fan of big wheels either. I think a set of 18's with a 265/50/50 tires will be just about right. It is a 28.5" tire with roughly 5" of sidewall. My current tires are 295/50/15 which has about 5.5" of sidewall. |

Re: New Member from Kansas
Two questions:
1. Do you still have the white dash pad? 2. What body shop did the fender repair?
