67 step side wheel question
Hey guys. I posted this pic of my wheels on a different thread to identify them. Now that I know what they are I have another question. These wheels have the screw on style center caps. Of course when I tried to take them off the screws broke off in the wheel. So my question is can I use regular center caps that go in from the back of the wheel or am I going to have to try to drill the screws out. Any answers or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: 67 step side wheel question
you should be able to just slide the cap through the back after you remove the caps that are there. although you will see the threaded holes around the lug nuts where the old caps mounted

Re: 67 step side wheel question
I had new tires put on yesterday and was looking at the back side of the wheel. It looks like there is an inset on the back of the bore hole. So If I put a regular cap in there it is no going to be tight between the wheel and the drum.

Still leaning towards drilling new holes. Just wondering if anyone has done that.

Re: 67 step side wheel question
I am hopeing that I can drill close enough to the broken screws to cover them up. I have a friend at work that is going to polish the wheels for me. I was panning on sanding the broken screws flush with the wheel and then let him polish them.
