decisions decisions::bags or motor
so i bought my 69 with a "rebuilt" 350 that had a top end noise. didnt feel like dealing with it, so i picked up a motor from an ex-coworker that had a 86 350 he pulled to put in a beefier motor in his k10. got it running with a new edelbrock carb and tuneup a couple months ago.....and just recently it has started smoking lightly at idle and a puff of smoke upon acceleration. blueish smoke so its oil. it just happened all of a sudden when i was coming back from a 30 min drive. the only thing i have done is change the valve covers around that time. i will be buying some baffled grommets for starters. pcv on pass side, breather on driver side. running 10w30 oil which i will be changing out for 10w40 or 20w50 this weekend. i originally noticed the smoke coming from one side, but now it seems to be coming from both sides. only when warm, nothing upon cold start. also doing a comp check this weekend too.
so either way, IF it is an internal issue....should i ride this motor out and bag the truck, or go ahead and do the 5.3 swap? lol |

Re: decisions decisions::bags or motor
yeah, looks like ill be doing that first....really wish i could get this truck on the ground....currently has a 4/3 drop.....maybe ill just run 2" blocks out back to help level it out. then ill maybe be a lil more satisfied with the stance for the time being.
