1955 Chevy 3600 Replacing 292 with 383
It is time that i replace the current engine in my 1955 Chevy 3600. When i bought her she was a complete Frankenstein pieced together with hundreds of different parts. The 235 was replaced with a 292. The motor mounts have gone to hell. The engine is still strong but if I am going to replace the motor mounts id rather do it because i am putting a meaty engine in her. I decided on either a 350 or 383. When doing the engine swap my biggest concern is new mounts. Do they make kits or will i have to bring out a welder to make them? Also does anyone have a referral for custom radiators? I am going to have to replace the one that is in there due to the motor mounts being so ragged the engine was allowed to push the fan into the radiator. I want a cross flow and something easy to mount an electric fan to. I am an amateur when it comes to restorations and it is my first project. Any advice will help. Thank you

Re: 1955 Chevy 3600 Replacing 292 with 383
Welcome to the site, nice looking truck. Use the search box at the top of the page with "67..." clicked with terms like "task force v8 swap" " task force radiator" , etc. Both topics have been discussed in detail in the last year and the threads should show up. Also take a look at build threads that have done the V8 swap, depends on the transmission you want to use too. Then armed with information, come back and ask claification questions based on the direction you want to go.

Post some good engine photos of what you have now for some more advice.
