Not 100% what you're asking but that plastic but that I see against the firewall should be holding the cable inside the pedal rod slot. The throttle cable should have a square shape plastic part that snaps into the firewall.

I do think you're gonna have to trim a little notch in the middle of that rod support bracket in order for the pedal to swivel back and forth.

Look at the very end of the pedal rod at the top where there's a hole for the cable, on the end of the cable is a barrel nut, the hole for the pedal rod is too big to hold that cable inbetween that hole. What do I put on the end of the cable to make it so it stays, I hope that's a little better explanation. Everything works Except cable to pedal rod

You are missing the plastic piece that retains the cable in the pedal. I will post a pic later if nobody does before me.

Do the sell this as a replacement part, been looking all over, not finding that plastic piece anywhere. If they don't sell it i guess I gotta wait til a 71-72 truck part out.

look at this link and you can see the little plastic piece you need, could probably find one at a salvage yard on a chevy in the 70's.

For what it's worth, I used a 77 on my 68, it's identical until sometime in the 80s I believe.
