members who've swapped in LS1's, please come inside..

Thinking of swapping in an LS1 into my '93.
Just wondering how involved the swap is and any feedback you might have.
Thanks, SC.

SC, pm N2TRUX about his recent Ls1 conversion in his 82 blazer. Not exactly bolt in from his descriptions.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I can give you some insight. Let me ask you why though. The prices are coming down, but this is not a cheap swap....

An LS1 in your ride would be great. I put one in my 68 and I love it. The cost was very expensive, about $4500, I think. About $1000 was upgrading fuel system up to fuel injection standards. You already have fuel injection fuel system in your truck so yours will be much cheaper. If you do get an LS1 make sure you get all accessories, manifolds, harness, and computer. I picked mine up with everything included and 30K miles for $2000. I don't know if it will make a difference in a later model truck like yours but the corvette accessory layout fit right into my truck.

Good luck!
