Single din radio adaptor

Does anyone make a single din radio adaptor kit for a 79 k20. I don't want to cut into the original dash

You can't adapt a radio to fit into a hole that is too small unless you cut the hole bigger.

Thanks didn't really know what size hole was there just figured you needed some soft of dash kit to go along with it. I guess I should say this is my first chevy it's a 79k20 4 speed 4x4 with 4:10 gears has no rust frame or body so I really don't know much about them

remember, measure twice cut once or its easier to take something of than on....one thing i do suggest is do not completely cut the old radio mounts off just cut horizontally and bend the original radiotabs inward in case you sell the truck or want to go for the stock look you can just rebend the OG tabs back in place...if you just meant the plastic panel as in "dash" then Nvm just make sure to cut carefully

You can buy a modern radio that fits the dash as it is. AM/FM/FMHD/USB/iPod, just no CD.

Why not just plug an aux cord from your phone into the amp.

Those modern radios that fit the hole are 200 bucks and up and custom autosound is not known for making good radios.I would cut the dash or get a under dash din mount and leave a factory radio in the hole or use a delete plate.

I just installed a RetroSound Zuma radio in my truck and I just love it, yes it was on the higher end of the price range but you will not regret it one bit. Before this radio was an old Jensen cassette deck that was about 15 years old, just went out one day, and I need a radio LOL.

One thing I wouldn't do is butcher the dash, never heard of custom autosound radios being bad??? spend the bucks on a good radio and you'll be happier than going the cheap route.

I bought the modernized shaft style radio with the AUX input on it from LMC, and I was super happy with it. The dash was all hacked up when I first got it, but I replaced it with the dash from another truck and it was good as new. Please don't hack your dash. If you want a newer style radio, mount it under the dash and leave the original. That's just my opinion.

TexasJeff, did you have to use that the faceplate that comes with it? How do you like the sound? Gotta get something. I would prefer to get the AC Delco tape stereo unit rebuilt but its difficult to find someone to do it. Thanks
