sorta metal brake ?
I,m going to try and make some wheel tubs but I don,t think I would like the sharp bends made by a brake.I was wondering if there is a way to get a more rounded edge with a brake or with out.You can see by my template what I,m trying to do

Re: sorta metal brake ?
Looks almost identical to pickup bed wheel tubs. Got any U-pull-it yards nearby?
Short of that, radius dies in a brake or use round rod as your die in a Mag brake. Using a Bead roller you could use some tank roll dies. You could also weld a piece of thick wall pipe to some flat bar, clamp it in a vise, and hammer away. Gene Winfield uses various sized pipes welded together with a slight gap between to form rolls fairly easily, a budget slip roll, if you will..

Re: sorta metal brake ?
I,m making the wheel tub wider than stock and shorter, too much work to shorten and widen the stock tub plus I would have to clean all the old dirt and tar and paint. This way I have a new canvas.I looked on u tube with no luck but I,m not wording my question right.

Re: sorta metal brake ?
Maybe get an aftermarket pair and use yours as doners to widen them?

Re: sorta metal brake ?
You might check with a steel fabricator, the guys that do structural steel for buildings. Any of these guys can make 'bent plate' out of pretty heavy steel, like 3/8" plate. When you use sheet metal dies in one of these brakes, it creates a more rounded bend than a brake that a sheetmetal shop would have does.
Just a thought.
