Deluxe Heater Control

I am working on a 1964 C-10 . We purchased a couple of used heater controls. 2 of the 3 have Bowties on them and the 3rd one is plain. Does anyone know if it is a GMC or were different years plain with no Bowtie?

Re: Deluxe Heater Control

My '64 GMC has a bowtie on the deluxe heater control mechanism and it is as it left the factory as best I can tell.

Re: Deluxe Heater Control

You'll find the same thing with the fleetside taillight covers.
Chevy has the Bowtie, GMC is plain.

Re: Deluxe Heater Control

Well then.... I did seem odd to me that the GMC control would have had a bowtie on it. So now I know. Mine must have been swapped out at some point. Not a real surprise though since the levers tended to break as the cables got kinked and dirty over the years. I had to replace one of the levers on mine when I restored the truck.

Re: Deluxe Heater Control

Great, I thought it may be the case but this truck is going to be as close to original condition and all parts are original restored so we did not want to overlook even the smallest details. I will try to get photos of the progress on the site. Thanks for all your help .

Re: Deluxe Heater Control

For what it is worth, the deluxe heater control unit in my '64 GMC does not have the two Chevy insignias as I had thought. Mine is blank. I guess that I have seen so many for sale on eBay and pictured on this site that I just assumed I had seen the same on mine.
