My before and after pictures of parts I have powder coated before I sell
First off let me say this is NOT a for sale post. If there is something you are interested in PM me and I will post in the for sale section.
For those of you that have dealt with me in the past you know that I try and provide the best quality parts available. I thought it would be fun to post some before and after pictures so that you guys know what is involved. Normally I take before pictures at the powder coater to insure that I receive all of my parts back as there are so many small pieces. This time I had 57 parts redone! Recently I decided to start having many of the parts sandblasted and powder coated. It seemed like a good idea as most items I sell are originally black. This way a customer that purchases from me can have a clean ready to install part without having the hassle of having to refinish themselves. This is the first batch of hydraulic pedal assemblies that I have had powder coated. I know originally they were bare metal but most if all I have seen have a decent amount of surface rust even here in AZ. To remedy this refinishing sounded like a good idea. Even if you can't see most of it once installed. With this batch of pedal assemblies I am also installing all new bushings in them. I figured I had them completely apart so it was as good of time as any to do this. The price won't be much higher on these than I normally sell them for. Just my actual cost of powder coat and bushings. I feel this way I can provide the best quality parts to my customers. I have sold a lot of these pedal assemblies over the past couple years and these will be the best quality yet! The other parts in the pictures are items I normally have powder coated. I think all of them look 100 times better than when I started! ![]() ![]() [IMG][/IMG]

Thanks! With powder coating it is just so painless and quick. The shop I use generally has a 2-3 day turn around. Can't beat it!

Do you make new parts too or are all your parts reconditioned?

I just refurbish clean original parts or find NOS items.

they look great, painted 'all over' is the way to go,otherwise it would flash rust again.

Re: My before and after pictures of parts I have powder coated before I sell
It was always weird to me that GM never painted these but no telling how much money they saved not doing it. Heck, the actual pedals weren't even painted all of the way to the top! Only the part you could see! Just put together a hydroboost pedal assembly with all new bushings and it looks really nice.

Re: My before and after pictures of parts I have powder coated before I sell
Thanks for the compliment! I just know when I purchase parts off the internet I hate receiving greasy nasty rusty parts. It was far from necessary to powder coat the pedal assemblies since they are inside the truck but they sure look nice!

Re: My before and after pictures of parts I have powder coated before I sell
Thanks! I feel you can't beat powder coating. For the time involved in prepping it to paint it yourself and then buying the materials I think powder coating is a way better option. I went the painting way before and it is a whole lot of work! Here is one of the pedal assemblies all put back together with new bushings.

Tell your powdercoat guy to mask off the studs. He should have silicone caps that slide right on them and only takes a second to do.

Re: My before and after pictures of parts I have powder coated before I sell
Quick question. I sent 2 large safari racks off to be blasted and powder coated. Think it cost like 250 which was a good price when shopping around. The racks had surface rust in the creases and some cross bars. When I picked them up, they looked great. Ive had em mounted up for about a year and all the rust has returned. Poor prep? Do you think Ive got a legit complaint. They are exposed to the weather but we have sub 10% humidity, no salty air in the high desert.

Re: My before and after pictures of parts I have powder coated before I sell
I actually considered having them do that but thought I would just run a die down the threads if it was an issue getting the nuts onto it. Just thought it would be nice to have everything coated evenly. I have had them cap/mask sections before. I just decided to go a different route this time.
