new guys project
hello and thanks for the forum.lots of good info in here.I just picked up a 51 3800 complete except for the flat bed and radiator.Motor turn over by hand, last owner thinks parents just parked it 20yrs ago after buying a tractor I am going to get it running and driving before I decide weather to completely restore it.I am looking for a bed locally(springfield il)also I need a lot of other small things.I was looking in the lmc catalog but they don't list 3800 parts,i realize a lot of 3100,3200 and 3600 parts will fit 3800s but how do I know what fits what.I CANT FIND just 3800 parts catalog and lmc was not helpful on phone.Does the body, doors hood, radiator and bed interchange...any help greatly appreciated.....mike

Re: new guys project
9' beds for 3800's are not reproduced. Your best bet is to find one in good condition and fix it. Front bed panels, tailgates, stake pockets, bed strips are reproduced, just not the bed sides. You'll also need the super long running boards too.

Re: new guys project
Biggest drawback to that donor frame is track width (tires extend out beyond the fenders) and kick up in the frames that require the body and bed to be lifted. Since is a 4wd that probably is not an issue, if you do not mind getting the mud, etc. kicked up on the body. In two wheel applications the body has to be sectioned over the frame.
