door handles for a 67

I put doors from a 67 on my truck. The available door handles say for a 67-72
but the bolt holes are at an angle they need to be straight for a 67. Has any one came up with a easy fix to make the 68-72 style handles work on a 67 door after is painted? This would have been no problem if I had known before my doors were painted and on the truck.
Thanks Jim

Sorry to give you the bad news but the sixty seven handles aren't repoed. You might try the classifieds to get a nice set of used ones.

Re: door handles for a 67

I bought a set and sent them back to swap them out for a different reason.
They fit the door fine it is just the bolt issue. I made a wedge shape washer
and it seamed to work ok. I was thinking of pluging the hole with a cut off bolt and loctite then redrill and tap. Machine work is not a problem I did it for 15 years and have a Bridgeport in my garage. I just wanted to see if any others have come up with a fix. It seams I have to work on/fix everything I
have bought to make it work right. I guess it is better than not having it at all.

I used a wedge washer on my White '67 and it worked OK....
