Tank removed, Cab Interior IDEAS
I have insulation and carpet that runs all the way back with the tank removed ready to go. My new 21 gallon LMC tank is mounted in the rear, under the bed now and I'm just getting ready to finish the Cab's interior and I wondered, What have you guys done to finish the back wall of the Cab behind the seats without any in cab gas tank anymore. Carpet, Felt, Paint? Does anyone make a cheap, made up carpet piece to hang, What's the easiest ideas?
Thanks for your thoughts

If I was to go down that path, I'd be looking at some sound deadener and carpet. Just my 2 bobs worth.

Re: Tank removed, Cab Interior IDEAS
Do you mean specifically for trucks with the tank removed? Because the ones for trucks with tanks are molded and sewn into the shape to fit a tank.
Honestly that area (without a tank) is so flat and basic you could probably trim it out nicely with just bulk carpet from ACC. Do they still make Bazookas or am I creature of the 80s? That's what I'd replace my tank with!

Re: Tank removed, Cab Interior IDEAS
Mines kinda redneck but I just put some sound deadened, attatened some leftover ( bulk) carpet with hot glue and velcro. Then riged some gun rack hooks to hold my shot gun.
I believe most vendors sell pieces of carpet that are actually made for that application. But I'm to cheap to buy something I can't actually see. davepl, yea I think the bazooka did die in the '80's along with glam rock! Went into a stereo store the other day, boy did i feel old. I could barely figure out how to turn half the stuff on. But I wonder if I could actually fit a REAL bazooka behind my seat?!

Re: Tank removed, Cab Interior IDEAS
Lees did you do anything yet? I bought a carpet "apron" since I have no tank... I want it a clean smooth flat surface. I've seen people use card board. ..apparently there's the porterbuilt guy who makes a super clean piece of metal... I can't figure out how I want to do mine so I'm also looking for ideas

Re: Tank removed, Cab Interior IDEAS
I sound add dynomat type material and than used a 1/4 inch thick MDF board and covered with black headliner material and used the old gas tank strap to hold it in. Mounted my ten inch sub and two six 1/2 inch speakers along with amp to it.

Re: Tank removed, Cab Interior IDEAS
I built the sub box out of 3/4" board(MF) and mount 2-10" shallow subs I put hush mat on the back wall along with a set of cab corner speaker panels covered in grey carpet. I have more grey carpet to fill in the rest of the back wall just haven't gotten there yet!
