It's cool to have a sought after vehicle...not sure I like it in the same class as a Honda Civic though...I used to have one of them too, gave $15 at a farm sale for it and it even sorta ran!

Our trucks have been popular for years. Had a friend in high school that had one of those civics. We put a ton of miles on it before he wore it out. My Dad has a 65 Corvair convertible, it's about the same color. His has the wire wheel covers on it though.

the early Honda's were fun but I'd take a Datsun b210 with some little mud tires on the back. man those things were fun and the datsuns were very good in the mud

I was surprised back in the 90's how much the value of short-bed 2wds had skyrocketed. That's when I started pestering locals to sell me one.
I also owned two civic cvcc cars when I was young. I was the only guy in the shop that could adjust the carbs. A real BEOTCH. But once set right after the rebuild fun cars to put around in. Mine had a CB with a PA sop when people cut me off I would tell them they suck real loud like! They got amazing mileage and I would drive one if I had it. Tires were hard to find though 12".

I think that article should be titled "...we'd never expect...". I'd be more surprised at anyone who didn't know that. Articles written about cars by people who aren't car people are so lame. When did you wake up? These trucks have had a following since day-1. There are more original owner 67-72 GM Trucks than any other vehicle I know. With each year passing the love has grown and anyone who hasn't noticed all the ultra nice ones running the roads after 40+ years has their head buried in the sand. And,that would only apply to those who never look at old car classifieds or ever go to car shows. And why be surprised a truck is collectible when trucks are the largest segment of vehicle sales for many years running?
Also,the Corvair was voted-in as a historic classic by the AACA and other historic vehicle organizations back in the mid-70s when the last Corvair wasn't even 10 years old. There have been Corvair clubs since before that. When I was a teenager on the '70s a friend's dad had several and he was the first person I saw who totally tore a vehicle down and put it back together to factory new specs with every last detail down to markings on parts.
I'd think before writing such an article a person would take a look around to gather more accurate information before spouting out how little they know bout the topic

These articles are written for people who are not in the car hobby. It is not designed to be at the level of those who have been in the hobby for a while. The goal of the author is to get non-car people interested in what we are doing.

Yes, but now the prices will go up, thats good for some of us that are owners but not so good for the young guns looking the join in on the 67-72 trucks also this tends to push reproduction parts up again.

Don't get me wrong it's a good article but now the kids of the parents who have one thats only a parts truck will now be wanting collectable car money for it when it gets pass on to them.

This. I try to avoid internet "Top 10" type lists at all costs. They only cause my blood pressure to go up.
