Question about my engine block
hi everyone. so for the longest time i have been getting oil burning off my driver side header that was burning off and i didn't know where it was coming from. i checked the valve cover gaskets and they are dry. finally figured out just the other day that there is a hole on the driver side of the block where i can put another dip stick tube into the block????? never knew they had the dipstick option on either side of the blocks. i did a little research and someone mentioned buying a dipstick delete plug. i couldn't find any online. should i just buy another dipstick tube and put it on the other side of my block and just have two dipstick tubes? thanks for the input.

Re: Question about my engine block
You likely have a targetmaster/goodwrench service engine;they had provision for dipstick on either side.A cleaner solution than 2 dipsticks would be to plug the hole with a suitable round head fastener and some sealant.I don't know that the plug is sold as a separate service part.

Re: Question about my engine block
so just get sealant and stick any old bolt in there that would fit? yea the guy mentioned it was a aftermarket crate engine in the truck but he didnt know anything about the engine other than that.
