Wrong Dropmember Motor Mounts?

Hi, I'm not new to the site, but I'm new to asking questions. I have a 64 GMC Suburban, some mechanical skills, but no where near to what a lot of you guys (and girls) have! This site is so informative! I can usually look for an answer here and find them, and I have A LOT of them. I would like to start a build, but don't want it to be too long. I started the teardown in 2009, purchased Porterbuilts v3.2 Dropmember and rear extreme kit and was on my way. I originally was going to put an ls-1 in but am going with a 350. I bought different motor mounts from a member here and this is where I'm at. Since then I have moved and put it on the back burner. If it wasn't for this site and the Unbelievable trucks, I would have probably sold it. So I PROMISED my children that it would be finished this winter. I'll post pictures up later and possibly start a build thread. the question that I have now is, do I have the wrong motor mounts??? The angle of the motor seems too much, if I put the tranny on it would hit the ground. Tell me what you think ? THANKS soo much for your help!!!! Jeff

Re: Wrong Dropmember Motor Mounts?

Put the tranny on it and set the rear mount. The engine is going to lean way back like that if not supported in the back. It should look a lot better after that.

Re: Wrong Dropmember Motor Mounts?

maybe your engine side mounts are in the wrong (front holes) putting it to far forward get some pics of the mounts so we can see more of what is going on

Re: Wrong Dropmember Motor Mounts?

Talk to Nate Porter.
Looks like you need the inner frame gussets also.

Re: Wrong Dropmember Motor Mounts?

since you dont have factory mounts my first idea is out the window...one of 3 things is wrong #1 engine is too far forward #2 engine is too low #3 rack is too high or too far back ...without the body on it is hard to tell just what is going on..... maybe someone with that same (rack/mount)setup can help with measurements

Re: Wrong Dropmember Motor Mounts?

Hey Keith, first of all, Thanks for all your help. My dropmember is a v3.2 if that matters? It looks a little bit different than the one in the photo you sent. Did the other mounts change at all from kit to kit ?
